Emergency Pet Hospital

Open 24/7 for your pet's emergency care!

We are happy to be available for walk-in services 24 hours a day! From 12 AM to 6 AM, our services will be curbside.

We operate with a triage system to prioritize the sickest patients.
Please call the hospital before arrival so we can begin the triage process over the phone.
Examples of how the triage priorities work are below:

Priority 1

Come directly to the hospital. Requires immediate treatment to survive. Ex. Cardiac or respiratory arrest, severe bleeding, seizing, head trauma.

Priority 2

Come directly to the hospital. Requires treatment within a few hours to survive. Ex. Blocked cat, bloated, respiratory distress, actively bleeding, toxin ingestion.

Priority 3

Same day care required. Ex. Vomiting, anorexia, non-weight bearing, dystocia, lacerations, and eye issues.

Priority 4

Stable patients that do not require same day treatment. Ex. Ears/skin, weight-bearing lameness, diarrhea/vomiting with a good appetite, recent seizure.

What to expect during an emergency visit
  1. Call us to check where we are at with our triage protocol to make sure we have the ability to see your pet.
  2. Fill out the check-in form on our website. This allows us to have a file all set up before you arrive.
  3. Come to the clinic and check in with reception.
  4. Your pet will be taken to get a triage done. Our RVTs (nurses) will check your pet’s vitals and prioritize your pet based on the current caseload and how your pet is doing.
  5. You will be set up in an exam room or asked to wait in reception until a room is available.
  6. Your pet may wait with you until the doctor can assess it or your pet may wait in the treatment area to allow for close monitoring until the doctor can assess it.
  7. Doctor will discuss everything with you and review your options.

Our Canine Reproduction Service

We take pride in our canine reproductive service. We offer advanced care to optimize success with health being the ultimate goal.

Our Reproduction Team is in the office Monday – Thursday, 7:00am – 5:00pm. Our reception team is available to schedule progesterone testing and emergency services (c-sections) 24 hours a day / 7 days a week. Reproduction related questions or appointment requests can be directed to repro@thph.ca and will be answered during regular office hours.

We do not collect or breed every dog presented to us; breed health is our priority. We will require breed specific health testing according to your breed’s parent club. Requirements for each breed can be found at www.ofa.org/browse-by-breed. **We do not accept EMBARK DNA testing on its own as proof of health clearance.
